SECURITY AND THE ALARM

Guardhouse telephone number: 021 790 2977

We currently have 3 guards who rotate their shifts:  Francis, Moses and Ricardo.

Even though the property is in a security estate with 24 hours guards, we would recommend that you use the alarm for your complete peace of mind.

At night, please press ‘stay’ for 2 seconds and then it will ask for the code which is ‘1414’.

Remember to switch the alarm off in the morning, before exiting the house.  The same code ‘1414’ must be entered.

There is a remote for setting the alarm when leaving the premises.

I will also run through the system with you, please don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any questions.

REFUSE AND RECYCLING

Please separate general waste and recycling. Black bin liners are to be used for general waste and the clear bags are to be used for recycling. Recycling does need to be separated, but items do need to be clean – please place all clean bottles (plastic or glass), cans, tins, cardboard, paper and plastic in the clear bags and place next to the dustbin.

Waste collection is every Thursday morning, so please ensure all rubbish is placed outside by the garage on Wednesday evening.  Derek, the Estate gardener, will take the bins to the main gate and return once they have been emptied.

WIFI

There are 3 different WIFI areas throughout the house:  Master bedroom, TV room & living area.  The password is the same through-out:  welcome@us

OUTDOOR FURNITURE AND CUSHIONS/UMBRELLAS

We want you to relax and enjoy your stay, but these items will need to be put away when not in use as the cushions are not waterproof.  Kindly bring them inside when rain is forecast or if it is windy as both the umbrella and cushions may be blown away in windy conditions.

POOL AND GARDEN SERVICE

Balo will be at the property every other Tuesday to look at after the garden and make sure your entertainment areas are clean and tidy for your use.

Pool Guru will at the house twice a month to attend to the pool.

You do not need to be at the property for either of these services.

DROUGHT

As I am sure you are aware, the Cape has been experiencing a very severe drought. Whilst the water restrictions have been eased, we do appeal to you to be ‘water aware’.  The current allowance is 105L per person per day which includes washing, flushing of toilets etc.  Therefore:-

1) Linen – we would encourage you to launder your bedlinen and towels on a need-to basis, rather than an automatic weekly basis.

2) Washing machine – when laundering your own clothes, please use the machine only once it has a full load or on eco-friendly cycles.

3) Swimming pool – please keep the cover on the pool when the pool isn’t in use to prevent any unnecessary loss.

TOWELS AND LINEN

*Beach/pool towels have been provided.  Please do not remove the bathroom towels from the property.  Please also be aware of staining on linen and towels, particularly from make-up and self- tanning lotions.

*NB: Damage to linen and towels, will be charged for.

No doubt there will be other questions which will come up from time to time, but please don’t hesitate to contact me.  In the meanwhile, exhale, relax and enjoy your holiday.

Kindest regards
Claudia
